Pete,
>Oh wait that was 2000 years ago.
God is not slow respecting His promise. The number of years since then is entirely irrelevant to prophecy or eschatology. Mocking a legitimate post only shows your own lack of ability to answer it.

>i'm surprised you have to do research
Tetly, you live in Canada. The land of high taxation, socialized medicine, where civil and religious liberties are restricted through 'hate'thought' legislation. It's like western Europe only more empty, LOL. It might be hard to find any real Christian counselors.

In looking at the condition of the world in general, I would say that it has been spared judgment. You quoted a text that we use to point out the attributes of those who are Christians. Those who have the Holy Spirit indwelling, not just those who claim to be Christian. All of scripture is inspired, not just the parts we agree with. The gospel is an offense to those who are perishing. It is hated because it calls the self-centered and proud to repent.

by jgnat ini read the most extraordinary claim the other day.
"the bible is factual.
" i wondered, how could the speaker possibly back up such a claim?

No one is hijacking anything, Jgnat. Since when is Bible/Faith not dealing with God? I am just answering replies to me so the rest of the proles don't start whining about me not answering.

Thom,
You were living your life in sin and rebellion then someone came along and shared the gospel. You became reconciled to God. Through you, others became reconciled before God and this goes on and on.....
Jesus came that you might live, not just now (and in abundant victory) but eternally in heaven and not separated from all that is good in hell. God let you live, He died for your sins. The real tragedy is when ones choose not to accept grace and settle for divine jusice instead.

>Cos God loves watching people die
God gave His son that you may choose life. Don't blame God because of your own pride. He created beings who could choose, not puppets. Evil exists because we have a choice. Indeed, evil exists because we choose to live in rebellion. It doesn't have to affect you eternallly as you do have a choice.
Part of being God is determining the lifespan of the beings you created. Yet this is only the physical death as we are immortal souls who will live beyond this realm. When and how you and I die is irrelevant to the divine question to begin with!

Why didn't God fix the problem at Calvary? He did. Open your eyes to salvation. At this moment in time you can see how God has provided His son as a sacrifice for your sins: past, present and future. Receive and believe! Feel free to P.M. me:
Romans 10. 8-13 (NLT)
8 Salvation that comes from trusting Christ – which is the message we preach – is already within easy reach. In fact, the Scriptures say, "The message is close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart." 9 For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, "Anyone who believes in him will not be disappointed."
12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They all have the same Lord, who generously gives his riches to all who ask for them. 13 For "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

From Kidder,
This proves 1) that my parents had sex and my mother conceived me, and 2) The the fine folks at IBM, using the scientific method, were able to manufacture a very fine computer terminal.
If this is the extent of your "proof of god" you are in very sad shape.....
Three words: life, miracle, design.

Hi Cyg,
>read Alan F's logical writeups to turn me off to Morris.
AlanF's writings are a testimony to his reason. They are a product of his worldview. He has adopted a naturalistic worldview. Morris can use the same evidence to make a case for creationism.
>Sorry Rex, can I still be your friend?
Of course.
